Kerala -Set
Kerala State Eligibility
Test (SET) is organized by the Government of Kerala in order to ensure that
teaching standards have maintained, the standard of Higher education in the state
of Kerala. Applicants must have Kerala SET for joining higher education as a
teacher.
The Kerala SET entrance
exam is four hours duration exam. There are 2 papers in the Kerala SET exam.
While Paper-I is common
for all candidates, Paper-II contains questions from the subject in which a candidate had a specialization at the post-graduation level.
The SET would be conducted
only in the following 31 subjects listed below. The candidates are supposed to
appear for only one subject from the list. These subjects are listed below:

Eligibility
Candidates
who want to appear in the exam must possess a Master’s degree in a specific
subject with not less than 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade. Apart from this aspirant should have a B.Ed. degree in any discipline from any
university in Kerala or possess these qualifications from any other university
which is considered to be on par with these universities.
Note:
Aspirants who possess their Master’s degree with the minimum required marks to meet
SET eligibility criteria but are currently in the final year of their B.Ed. the degree programme also eligible to appear in Kerala SET. Similarly, candidates
who have secured their B.Ed degree and are in the final year of their post-graduate
programme also eligible for appearing in the exam. The official website
informs: “Such candidates must produce the Certificates of their qualifying
examinations passed with the minimum required marks within 1 year from the date
of publication of the results of the test, failing which they shall be treated
as disqualified”
- Open/General/OBC:- Rs-750 for outsiders (Rs-800)
- SC/ST/VH/PH:- Rs- 345 for outsiders (Rs-425)
